Venu Ravichandran

Venu Ravichandran (Tamil: வேணு ரவிச்சந்திரன் also known as Oscar Ravichandran or Aascar Ravichandran) is an Indian film producer and distributor in Chennai, India. He is the founder and owner of the production and distribution company, Aascar Films.

Career

Ravichandran started his venture in 1998 with co production of Kadhalukku Mariyadhai. In 2000, he produced Vanathai Pola.

Ravichandran had to change the company name, Oscar Films, in the spring of 2008, after receiving a cease and desist order from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. He changed the name to "Aascar Films" and replaced the logo, which was the Academy Award trophy.
